Positive Life Concepts (PLC Recruitment) is seeking Individuals with extensive Project Manager experience to assist with an upcoming 7 month long project in the Lethbridge area. REQUIREMENTS: 
General construction experience and/or Journeyman or Apprentice in Carpentry, Metal
Building Systems Erector, or other related construction trade and/or administrative experience.
  • A tidy and systematic approach to streamline projects through the planning, purchasing, and implementation phases
  • Project Management Certificate, PMP designation, or equivalent
  • Able to read blueprints and interpret contract documents
  • Experience with AutoCad is an advantage
  • Experience in all facets of building construction
  • Experience in construction equipment and tool requirements
  • Alberta Class 5 Drivers Licence (Clean Driver's Abstract)
  • First aid training
  • Computer skills with Microsoft Office products like Outlook, Word, Excel, and Project.
  • Physically fit
  • Required to supply certain tools and PPE on a daily basis
 
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position requires the applicant to work in an office environment for approximately 50% of the time and to work in the field the remainder of the time in both summer and winter conditions.
 
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
Supervision of construction projects involving the erection of buildings and other general construction projects including but not limited to:
  • Preparing a project schedule in consultation with the Sales Representative and General Manager and maintaining the construction schedule
  • Completing project information sheets and job checklists
  • Reviewing Fall Protection Plans and Site Evacuation Plans with the Safety Office
  • Obtaining quotes for materials required on projects
  • Issuing Purchase Orders and sub-contracts, approving project invoices. 
  • Pricing and issuing Change Work Orders
  • Assisting the customers with obtaining development and building permits
  • Ordering, checking, and recommending shop drawings
  • Corresponding with the suppliers and engineers prior to and after building orders
  • Preparing invitations to bid
  • Initiating sub-contract with trades
  • Reviewing general ledger accounts for correct coding of invoices
  • Maintaining project files, and following the "scope of work"
  • Preparing meeting agendas and minutes for construction meetings
  • Coordinating construction meetings, regular site visits and progress reports
  • Checking design drawings against construction drawings
  • Prepare monthly project progress billings
 
RESPONSIBILITY: 
You shall be responsible for ensuring your daily work is carried out in a professional and diligent manner.
  • Ensure excellent communication between owners, sub-contractors, site supervisors/foremen and employees.
  • Ensure that site safety meetings are held as required and that the minutes of safety meetings and incident reports as delivered to the Safety Officer in a timely manner
  • Co-ordinate material, equipment, and personnel requirements for the project with the Site Foreman/Site Supervisor. 
  • Ensure the project progresses in a timely manner and within budget.
  • Report price discrepancies, budget over runs and job site issues to the Project Director at regular weekly meetings.
