This position is a full-time hourly position encompassing the following responsibilities:
  • You shall be responsible for ensuring your daily work is carried out in a professional and diligent manner.
  • You will be responsible for ensuring required material is taken to job site and work is carried out in a professional and expeditious manner.
  • You will be required to ensure that work sites are kept as safe and that all employees abide by the `Health & Safety Policy Statement’.
  • Ensure projects progress in a timely manner and within budget constraints
  • Ensuring crews start on time
  • Supervising on-site construction
  • Managing the effective use of materials
  • Managing the effective use of tools and equipment
  • Communicating with sub-trades
  • Communicating with owners and general contractors
  • Issuing purchase orders
  • Attending construction meetings
General construction experience and/or journeyman or apprentice in Carpentry, Metal Building Systems Erector, or other related construction trade.
  • Able to read blueprints and interpret contract documents
  • Experience with AutoCad is an advantage.
  • Experience in all facets of building construction
  • Experience in construction equipment and tool requirements
  • Alberta Class 5 Drivers Licence (Clean Driver’s Abstract)
  • First aid training
  • Physically fit
  • Supply all their own PPE and certain tools required for the job
  • Able to operate construction man lifts, variable reach forklift, and skid steer
This position requires the applicant to work in the field in both summer and winter conditions.              

Supervision of construction crews involved in the completion of the project including but not limited to;
  • General construction duties
  • Steel erection
  • Supervision of Pile Driving
  • Supervision all Equipment installation
  • Dirt works
  • Supervision of Fence erection
  • Completing regular safety reviews and tailgate meetings.
  • Recording and submitting a daily journal detailing events and activities at each work location
  • Completing and submitting daily time sheets.
  • Work cooperatively with the Project Manager assigned to each project
  • Notify the Project Manager of any work outside of the “scope of work” so that a change work order (CWO) may be prepared.
